The Secretary of Economy and the National Metrology Center extend a cordial invitation to participate in the next Metrology Symposium, which will take place from October 28 to 30, 2020 at the facilities of the National Center of Metrology in Mexico (CENAM).

The Metrology Symposium is a forum that promotes the exchange of experiences on the most recent advances and applications of metrology at the service of industry and society. This edition theme is:

Digital Metrology for Quality Infrastructure and Industry 4.0

The Infrastructure for Quality is essential to ensure the quality of products and services, fairness in business transactions, safety and health of people and environmental protection. This is achieved through integration and coordination between the pillars of Standardization (including Regulations), Metrology and Accreditation, with the consequent function of conformity assessment.

The Metrology Symposium will be an important forum to identify, know and understand the challenges and opportunities that metrology has as an important part of the Quality Infrastructure and for the development of the country.

Aims


  • Contribute to the strengthening of the Quality Infrastructure.
  • Strengthen technical collaboration bonds between members of the metrological community and end users of measurement technologies.
  • Encourage the exchange of information in metrology, methods and measurement systems, with the pillars of regulations-standardization, accreditation and conformity assessment.
  • Explore the evolution and challenges of measurement techniques, advances in research and development, as well as applications of metrology in different productive sectors.

Intended audience:


  • End users of measurement technologies for industry and laboratories, engineers, quality managers, measurement equipment manufacturers and service providers.
  • Calibration and testing laboratories, verification units, standardization and conformity assessment organizations.
  • Dependencies and regulators that have support in Metrology and Quality Infrastructure in their public policies.
  • Researchers, academics and students interested in the subject, who can be actors in the processes.

On the agenda:


  • Plenary conferences, simultaneous sessions and round tables, with the participation of leading national and international speakers in their field.
  • Commercial and technological exhibition area where you can discover the new products that exhibitors will present.
  • In the two days previous to the Metrology Symposium you can enroll in courses related to the metrological task.
  • Visits to CENAM laboratories.
