The M4DT Follow Up&Support Group have decided to organize a broader M4DT activity, the event in which the people who are interested in the digital transformation meet, inviting interested colleagues of the SIM region to a 120 minutes presentation, discussion, and exchange on M4DT topics.
This month, the topic will focus on the presentation of the BIPM digital framework, on thursday july 9th, 2026 at 15h00 UTC.

Claudia Santo
SIMA Uruguayan national, Claudia Santo is a chemical engineer who graduated from the University of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay. She is currently an independent consultant on issues related to metrology and management. She served as Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM) from July 2018 through June 30, 2026.
She was a member of the Accreditation Committee and a Technical Auditor for the Uruguayan Accreditation Body (OUA) and has served as a technical expert for other accreditation bodies.
She headed the Scientific Metrology Division at LATU (Uruguayan Technological Laboratory) for 8 years, having worked in the organization’s metrology department for more than 25 years.
Between 2011 and 2017, she served as chair of the SIM Technical Committee and as its representative to the JCRB (Joint Committee of the Regions and the BIPM).
She has served as a university professor at the University of the Republic and was part of the team of professional instructors at LATU.
She actively participates in symposia, seminars, and international events.
She has participated in and coordinated numerous national and international cooperation projects on topics related to metrology and quality infrastructure.
Rodolfo Souza
INMETRO, BRAZILHe holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (1989), and PhD in Electrical Engineering (2003), all from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Since 2008, has been a research technologist in metrology at the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization, and Industrial Quality (INMETRO). He has experience in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on Electromagnetic Theory, Microwaves, Wave Propagation, and Antennas, working primarily on the following topics: Measurements in broadcasting systems, wireless broadband access systems, 5G, and the Internet of Things; and Metrology for Digital Transformation. Now he is advisor of Digital Transformation in Scientific Metrology Directory in Inmetro.
